About Us

Lucent I.T. Services was established in March 2010 and are based in Manchester, UK. We provide software development and software testing services and specialise in I.T. projects for the Pharmaceutical industry.

Below is a list of our clients and some examples of our work.

Cheshire Connect

Cheshire Connect is a registered charity that encourages the donation of skills from businesses and matches those skills with the needs of the voluntary and community sectors.

We were recently asked by Cheshire Connect to provide local charities with our I.T. Services.

Our first engagement is to work with a charity called Space4Autism to freshen and rejuvenate their WordPress website. This is an on-going piece of work and details will follow...

We have been working with Sigma, for their Phamaceutical client, since 2012.

Our first project was to provide testing, in an agile environment, on an application built on the Django framework. The scope of this project included the testing of wholesale changes made to the web application as well as testing integration with another application.

We were then engaged to test a sample ordering application and its API. This API exposes RESTful services, which in turn are consumed by a SOAP web service layer. We firstly tested these service layers independently and then created integration scripts to test the interaction between these layers. The sample ordering and sample provisioning application ultimately places orders in the sample inventory systems used by the various compound management groups. We will be adding more details about the approach and tools used in this piece of work.

More recently, we have been assisting various compound management groups to help collate and define the UAT tests each site needs to execute to test an upgrade to the sample inventory systems.

Thermo Scientific

Thermo Scientific, a part of the ThermoFisher Scientific Group, are a world leader in analytical instruments, laboratory equipment and software solutions.

Thermo Scientific (our first client) engaged us in April 2010 initially to provide testing resource on a new release of their enterprise laboratory information management system, SampleManager.

This engagement then continued in two streams of work. Firstly, to work on a project to extend their implementation of HP's Quality Center to execute automated tests on remote machines. Secondly, to automate key regression scripts using C# and Ranorex.
